Peter has a passion for cars and has been a professional Automotive Mechanic for 50 years. Peter was involved in Formula 1 in Australia with the Stillwell Cooper Racing Team and the famous Perfectune “Yella Terra” Performance Workshop.

Peter established his own workshop in 1968 to provide and control the quality of workmanship that he would want for his own car. His reputation for quality service and knowledge grew – some of Peter’s customers are 3rd generation Toyota owners.

The Captain Corolla Story

Toyota commenced Army vehicle manufacture in 1935, progressively moving into car manufacturing. In May 1963 the Crown, Corona and Publica won their class in the 1st Japanese Grand Prix – in July 1963 Toyota established a Melbourne office in September 1963 the new Corona underwent a 100,000 km continuous operation driving test to prove their cars lasted.

The KE Corolla Series was launched on November 5th 1966

In 1971 Peter bought this little beauty new – the KE 25 Toyota Corolla

Peter immediately recognised he was seeing a completely different type of vehicle to anything else he had worked on – the engineering, build quality, design and thought that had been put into these vehicles was unmatched, this was the Toyota revolution.

Peter began to collect whole KE Corollas when they were cheap. At one stage he had 34 complete cars – he foresaw that this amazing car would be recognised for its longevity and would appeal to future generations of car enthusiasts. Peter put as many customers as he could into Toyotas – his reputation grew as fast as interest in the KE series and the name of Captain Corolla stuck. Peter was the go-to person for KE Corollas

Now a complete revival and interest in these cars has occurred by people who were influenced by a family member owning a KE Corolla or those who recognise them as a collectable and fun car.

What sets “The Captain’s“ range of Corolla KE spares apart and sourcing them via Kerollaspares is: His extensive history and in-depth and knowledge of the marque, and the range of rare and hard to get parts he has on hand to suit early Corollas.
